The carp at the bottom of this painting emerged very early and their lightness and ethereal quality kept this painting from being destroyed by a heavy tendency to over paint.

I have added charcoal sketch lines to a finished painting, reminiscent of the wall paintings found in Egypt. For some reason, these frescos had been left unfinished. Your eye is drawn to the edge of a canvas, to reveal the process of a paintings creation. Bill often talked of this and I have adopted this as my own.
